Alleppey is considered to be the hub of the backwaters of Kerala. One of the most preferred to be visited destinations of Kerala. This tour takes you through the backwaters for a day, through the interior water roads and canals. Here one could see the real villages of Kerala, the village people, their livelihood, the emerald green paddy fields and so on. The boat would be docked in the night from evening. The cruising starts next day morning.

The tour from Alleppey to Kollam is the longest cruise offered in Kerala backwaters. This houseboat ride from Kollam to Alleppey takes almost 8 hours and is a delightful ride, with lotuses and water lilies growing in the water. The Kingfisher and other water birds calling from the banks and otters splashing and playing in the water would be a common sight. Departure would be from Kollam or should spend one more night to return to Alleppey.

A tour to Kumarakom, a village on the banks of the backwater, would be almost like crossing the huge lake. Most of the time you would be surrounded with water, and hardly see land masses. There is a bird sanctuary at Kumarakom. If you could spend one more night, then you could probably visit the sanctuary and the driftwood museum.

The houseboats are available for day cruise also. Which starts from 11 in the morning to 5 in the evening. These would be a cruise through the streams, canals and through the backwaters. A day cruise would be almost, half the price of a complete night in a houseboat. Lunch and high tea is provided.
